Estuve navegando en estos días por internet y encontré un par de cosas que espero que disfruten. Un par de links y artistas…

Andrew Jones es un concept artist absolutamente increíble además de ser cofundador de Massive Black y Concept Art, hace un par de años hizo una obra llamada “1000 self portrait”. Deberían pasarse por ahí, es definitivamente inspirador y si quieren sentirse un poco más motivados, miren este link, creo que lo encontrarán tan útil como yo.

Pásense también por acá, seguro se van a divertir un rato. Pinten y sean rápidos.

Por cierto, visiten también las páginas de Dice Tsutsumi y Carlos Felipe León, son unos excelentes ilustradores, dibujantes y concept artists. Su obra es realmente inspiradora.

Por último, ¿Ya vieron UP? Que película tan bonita, y el diseño de personajes es encantador. Quizá mi parte favorita es cuando Carl Fredricksen suelta los globos y la casa empieza a elevarse, sin duda es una obra maestra de la animación: el color, la luz, el movimiento, la composición, todas juntas hacen una combinación perfecta.

Andrew Jones is an absolutely amazing concept artist, he's the Massive Black and Concept Artco-founder; two years ago he made a work called"1000 self portrait". You should take a look. And if you want to feelmotivated, check out this link, I think you're gonna find it as useful as me.

By the way, visit the Dice Tsutsumi and Carlos Felipe León websites, they're excellent illustrators, drawers and concept artists. Their work is really inspiring.

The last thing. Have you seen UP? That movie is beautiful and its character design is charming. Perhaps my favorite part is when Carl Fredricksen got away with the ballons and the house began to go up,without doubt this is a masterpiece of animation: The color, thelight, the motion, the composition, all together make a perfect match.

No hay mucho que decir esta vez.

Dicté mi pequeña conferencia la semana pasada y fue excelente. Gracias a los que asistieron. Aquí van también dos nuevas ilustraciones, una fue para Bacánika sobre como sería el entretenimiento en el 2047, la verdad disfruté mucho hacerla. La otra ilustración fue una idea que se me ocurrió y presenté para una revista pero no fue aprobada así que decidí modificarla un poco, en todo caso me gustó mucho como quedó al final.

Y algunos bocetos, claro, no tienen nada que hacer al lado de los bocetos de James Jean o Nicolás Uribe, pero hay que empezar a practicar para el “sketchcrawl” que va a ser el 11 de Julio.

Cook the pulpo

I gave my little talk last week and it was great. Thanks to the people who were there.

Two new illustrations, one for Bacánika on how would be the entertaintment in 2047, I really ejoyed drawing it. The other was an idea I had and present it to a magazine but didn't pass, so, I decided to modify it a little. Anyway, I like the way it turned.

And some sketches, of course, they're nothing compared with James Jean or Nicolás Uribe's sketches, but i need to practice for the next Sketchcrawl the next July 11th.

Weird Fishes - Weird Days

El último mes fue increíble, quizá un poco raro. Tres de mis ilustraciones fueron publicadas al mismo tiempo que la cartilla de Maloka. Al parecer las cosas van bien, lentamente pero bien. Lo más interesante e inspirador ha sido conocer varios artistas, además de ver como mis amigos también continúan trabajando fuertemente.

Por otro lado, la siguiente semana estoy invitada a dar una pequeña conferencia para los estudiantes de seminario de Artes Visuales en la Javeriana sobre los procesos que tuve durante mi trabajo de grado. Estoy muy emocionada porque será la primera vez que hable en público sobre mi trabajo de grado.

Weird Fishes - Weird Days

The last month was awesome, perhaps a little weird. Three of my illustrations were published at the same time than the Maloka's book. Things seems to go well, slow, but well. The most interesting and inspiring has been meeting several artists and seeing how my friends keep the hard work.

On the other hand, I’m invited to give a little conference to the students of the Visual Arts at Javeriana about the process I had in my grade project next week. I'm very excited 'cause it would be the first time I speak publicly about my grade project

Monstruos Marinos

Hace poco estuve involucrada en un trabajo que al fin terminé, claro está que aún quedan ciertas correcciones, pruebas de color y otras cosas. Monstruos Marinos es un proyecto patrocinado por Maloka. Fue increíble, en primer lugar porque ha sido mi primer trabajo, el cual fue largo y dispendioso, y en segundo, porque tuve la oportunidad de experimentar otro tipo de ilustración al cual no estaba acostumbrada a hacer pero que me ha servido para aprender varias cosas (Especialmente sobre monstruos marinos, algo que nunca vi en el colegio).

Ojalá algún día puedan ver la cartilla completa en Maloka (Bogotá, Colombia).

Sea Monsters

A few days ago I was involved in a work i've just finished; there are some corrections left, of course, color proof and all that stuff. Sea Monster project is sponsored by Maloka. It has been awesome, at first because it was my first job experience (a long and hard one), second because i've had the opportunity to experiment other illustration styles I'm not used to and I've leaned lots of things (Specially about sea monsters, I never learned about them at school)
